French Premier League Soccer Club joins Special Olympics France on road to LA 2015

By Anne-Charlotte Pichon

Athletes enjoy a warm-up run with OGC Nice players.

Team France has big ambitions to secure gold in soccer in the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games and they are taking their “Road to Los Angeles” campaign very seriously! They have pulled in the support of their partner, French premier league football club, OGC Nice to help train and select future champions. OGC Nice signed up as partners to Special Olympics in 2013 and the first “Road to Los Angeles” training camp took place on February 27th on OGC Grounds with stars from the club working alongside male and female Special Olympics athletes. The camp included training in alertness, ball control, individual technique and game drives. It took place under the supervision of Eric Noireaud, football coordinator for SO France as well as OGC Nice coaches. The OGC Nice players were impressed with the athleticism of the SO athletes as well as their enthusiasm, listening skills and physical fitness. This is just the start of what promises to be an exciting road to LA!
