Efforts by the Special Olympic Amerika Samoa Board to send a team to the Special Olympics Invitational Summer Test games at the University of Southern California Los Angeles have been rewarded: CEO Mark Dunkerley and Hawaiian Airlines have donated 8 airline tickets for the local team. Special Olympics American Samoa patroness First Lady Cynthia Moliga hand carried an official letter to Afimutasi Gus Hannemann, who now heads the Governor's Office in Hawaii who made contact with Hawaiian Airlines. A press release from the SOAS board said First Lady Cynthia Moliga informed the board upon her recent return to the territory that Afimutasi had advised her of the good news; that CEO Mark Dunkerley and Hawaiian Airlines had generously donated eight (8) tickets to American Samoa’s Special Olympics for the June games. SOAS Chairperson Tafa Tupuola, on behalf of Special Olympics Amerika Samoa Board and Patroness Mrs. Moliga, expressed sincere appreciation and faafetai to Afimutasi.
