My Life Champion

By Deb Acosta

Rabah Kino on the slopes in Idaho.

Rabah Kino is an accomplished Special Olympics skier from Lebanon. His mother, Rita Kino, said she introduced him to the sport of skiing when he was 4 by tucking him between her legs as she skied downhill.

In 2009, he competed in the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Boise, Idaho, USA, a magnificent achievement for himself and his family.

"My son is my champion, my life champion," she said. "He has no limits, no frontiers. ... We are a blessed family to have him."

See the complete story of Rita and Rabah Kino in the video below.

About Deb Acosta: I made this video while I was a student at University of Miami volunteering for Special Olympics' 2009 World Games documentation team.
