Nothing Like a Father to Help His Son to Lose His Fear of the Water

By Paola Martinelli

Noe with his father.

After his father spent a month with him learning how to swim, Noe lost his fear of the water. The Special Olympics Mexico Swimming program encourages parents like Noe’s father to actively participate during an athlete’s lessons. This gives an athlete the confidence to try over and over again until they succeed. His father's involvement, proved how important a parent’s guidance is in learning new skills and in developing confidence of our athletes.
