Macey is 8. She was chosen through the gift of adoption from Ukraine. She has a loving family now. She has been home almost 4 years. This year she was given the opportunity to be a OKC Barons Hockey Buddy. She was matched with a wonderful young Canadian named Alex. Alex has also become our friend. He comes over for dinner, birthdays and enjoy taking his dog Sheba with us to the park. He adores Macey and she adores him. Macey is non-verbal. This campaign means the world to our family as it has given Macey a voice through her Buddy Alex. We could not be more proud of him for learning about Macey's disability and for loving her for who she is. He is taking a stand in the sport of hockey to say Let
s Spread the Word to end the Word. He is not only Macey's Buddy but her HERO. Thank you Alex Plante for being Macey's voice. Thank you for taking the pledge and for loving our girl and family so well. Please SHARE this PSA from OKC Baron's Alex Plante #4 and his Buddy Macey. Thank you!
About Macey's proud mommy, Meghan: I am the proud mommy of Macey. My husband, Wayne and I chose Macey through the gift of adoption because she has Down syndrome. She is one of our 5 kids. We have Marcus and Mia who also has Ds. They are 6,7 and 8 years old. We are blessed to be a family. We are grateful for a campaign that allows us to be their VOICE. We thank God he chose us to parent such amazing kids. We are blessed!
