Ride for Peace in Bulgaria

By Hristo Hristozov

Children with and without intellectual disabilities learned to ride and care for horses in Bulgaria.

The riding school NIESA in Ihtiman, Bulgaria (http://www.ridingcenterbulgaria.com) organized a riding camp for 14 children with and without intellectual disabilities. Known as the ‘Ride for Peace’ in recognition of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, the camp, held 31 March-6 April 2014, offered children the chance to improve their riding skills and to learn how to care for horses. The camp was held in cooperation with Special Olympics Bulgaria.
