Special Olympics Africa Unity Cup Kicks Off Today

The tournament in Phokeng, South Africa features 22 national teams from 14 African countries. The teams will participate in this regional 7-a-side football tournament Oct 3-6. The top three countries from the tournament will compete in an international tournament, The Special Olympics Unified Cup, Rio 2013, in Brazil. Participating countries include Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia The tournament will also feature various engaging initiatives running concurrently with the football competition.
