Special Olympics Guatemala Welcomes the World Cup Trophy

By Sara Alvizures

Our athletes awaiting the arrival of the World Cup

Our Special Olympics Guatemala athletes were invited by THE COCA -COLA COMPANY to receive and welcome the World Cup Trophy which toured over 88 countries before returning to Brazil. 20 athletes from our football team lined up at La Aurora International Airport where they had the opportunity to meet Christian Karembeu and the committee that accompanied the trophy. The next day, 150 athletes had the opportunity to tour with the World Cup. Besides the prearranged fun activities, they were photographed with the Cup and Fuleco, the official mascot of the next World Cup.
