Special Olympics Mexico, Colima Events

By Paola Martinelli

The Monterrey Campus of the Institute of Technology and Higher Learning, Colima, invited Special Olympics to a CRECECAM event which took place from 22 to 27 July, 2013. Between the hours of 9:00 am to 13:30pm the Institute opened its facilities to participants to help them develop adaptive skills and integrate well with their surroundings. The organizers and sponsors gave each participant a backpack, two shirts, a cylinder for water, and provided them breakfast every day. The activities included: presentation of participant’s instructor, opening ceremony, storytelling workshops, cooking, dance, theater, music, ecology, psychomotor activities, sports, aquatic games, and a closing ceremony to recognize participation. It was a busy week, full of joy, enthusiasm and excellent participation from our Special Olympics athletes of Colima.
