On April 2nd, Special Olympics Poland Opolskie Region organized the III Open Swimming Memorial to celebrate the first International Day of Sport for Peace and Development. The Memorial was organized in the name of the Pope John Paul II, who was considered by many as Ambassador of Peace thanks to his influential impact on people's lives. 750 athletes took part in swimming competitions beating last year’s record and making 30,425 lengths of the pool altogether.
