Special Olympics Tajikistan takes on Project Unify for the first time

By Dilbar Sharipova-Ahtamova

Sports, discussion and a nice meal gave youths a happy introdution to Project Unify.

Special Olympics Tajikistan organized a Unified Recreation “Come and Try” football and tennis event in Dushanbe on 2 June 2014 as a way to introduce Project Unify. Fifty young participants representing one mainstream school and two special schools took part. Following the fun sports activities and a nice meal, youths joined five of their teachers in a classroom at special school No. 3 to discuss the Project Unify concept. Teachers referred to lessons from the Get Into It curriculum during discussions. The event was made possible thanks to a Very Special Christmas grant.
