Special Olympics Venezuela Signed Several Agreements with the IRDA

Caracas, October 2013. – On October 9th at the headquarters of the Regional Institute of Sport Aragua State (IRDA) Reinaldo Espinoza, Director of Special Olympics Venezuela Sports Training, and Professor Gustavo Infante , CEO of IRDA met, in order to reach agreements and partnerships between the two institutions in their search for opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities that live in the state of Aragua. At the meeting it was agreed that regular IRDA coaches will be part of Special Olympics Venezuela to help popularize sports. It was also agreed upon to include subprograms in the IRDA activity agenda with the intention of capturing people with intellectual disabilities in the state and making them Special Olympics athletes. This meeting was part of the development strategy of Special Olympics Venezuela sports department, which is to reach more athletes and to expand the scope of Special Olympics Venezuela.
