Staying Active

By Mark Sanchez

On one day in 2003 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I had a hard time doing sports and keeping active. I am a full-time mentor for the developmentally disabled. My client asked me to join Special Olympics. So I ended up playing softball. We won gold from east country San Diego. I was so happy. You have the ability to play, also to not have people turn me away because I have a disability. When I showed up at the Special Olympics competition. I wasn't aware of the care and food that they put into Special Olympics competitions. Had games, pictures, doctors, dentists. It was absolutely a positive atmosphere. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the opportunity. Thanks to Special Olympics I lost 35 pounds. atmosphereposenvironment . you jon special Olympics
