Together with Special Olympics Philippines athletes.
As Special Olympics celebrates its 45th birthday, I also celebrate my 10th year as a Special Olympics volunteer. Since my first time to volunteer during the 2003 National Games, I never stopped even for a single second from being a volunteer. I breathe, eat, sleep, and live Special Olympics. Through the movement, millions of lives have been changed, including mine. From an event volunteer to a coach, a sub-program officer to National Executive Director, and most especially a Eunice Kennedy Shriver Fellow... Shanghai, Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo, USA, Athens, Palawan, Baguio, Iloilo, Cebu, CDO, La Union, Pangasinan, Ilocos, Davao... badminton, football, powerlifting, cricket... awesome athletes and precious friends I gained from around the world... and so much more... Special Olympics made it all happen. Thank you, Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Special Olympics! I wouldn't be who I am today if it weren't for your great mission. And more importantly, the lives of our friends with intellectual disabilities wouldn't be as happy and exciting if it weren't for what you have (and will) done. Happy birthday, 45th birthday Special Olympics! Happy 10th year to me!
