Young Athletes and Motor Activities Training Sessions

By Johamy Alabi

Based on the 2013 agreement of the Ministry of Education (MINED), and Special Olympics called "Sports activity and recreation for people with intellectual disabilities" experiential sessions were developed for Young Athletes Motor Activities Training programs. The agreement provides equitable opportunities for access and learning for teachers in Special Schools and students through sport as a tool for social inclusion, offering opportunities and sporting experiences and adapting to different interests, motivations, and abilities. In September the cities of Santa Ana, San Salvador and San Miguel, were the headquarters for the western, central and eastern provinces respectively where national athletes, from the beginning of year, demonstrate their skills through different developmental routines in their programs. The conferences were developed with support from over 300 volunteers.
