Opening Session: From the Shadows to Significance

The opening speakers set the tone for the Global Development Summit by calling everyone present to do more than talk, but to go home and take action for people with intellectual disabilities. They bring attention to the difficulties facing people with intellectual disabilities across the world, and Dr. Shriver invites the audience to join him in a “dignity revolution” to create a different future for people with intellectual disabilities.
