Big House 5k: Trail to the Victors

The second annual Big House 5K: Trail to the Victors presented by Toyota is an exciting running event for the regional Midwest area. The University of Michigan's rich athletics tradition began in 1865 and continues to this day, with the Wolverines claiming more than 50 national championships in 12 sports. Our students, faculty and staff also regularly participate in dozens of intramural, club sport and fitness activities. The race, owned and managed by the University of Michigan Athletic Department working in conjunction with the Ann Arbor Track Club, is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, and will begin near the Stephen M. Ross Athletic Campus and finish on the field of the revered University of Michigan football stadium, the Big House.

The Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run

Join us on Sunday, April 19, 2015 for the 6th Annual Paterno Family Beaver Stadium 3 Mile Run and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk at Penn State University during Blue White Weekend. More than 4,000 runners and walkers of all ages and abilities took part in last year's event, helping to raise more than $400K. International Bocce Competition

You are invited to attend the 2015 International Invitational Bocce Competition to be held April 30 - May 2, 2015. The competition will be hosted on the beautiful campus of Seneca College, King Campus located just 30 minutes north of Toronto Ontario Canada. The event will include opening and closing ceremonies, sightseeing opportunities, formal medal presentations, an athlete’s dance as well, all teams are guaranteed a minimum of four games over two days of competition. Registration fees for this event are $75 per athlete. Registration fees include the following: Three nights of accommodation; Meals on four days (breakfast, lunch and dinner); Snacks and refreshments; Transportation to and from the airport (as needed); 4 games of bocce (minimum); Medals for all athletes; Victory Dance. Teams choosing to arrive before April 30th will be required to pay an additional $25 per athlete which will include: Sightseeing opportunities; Accommodation for a maximum of two additional nights; Meals for a maximum of two additional days. All teams are responsible for their own travel expenses to and from the competition. Travel subsidy may be available for international teams. All athletes and coaches must be registered and members in good standing with their respective Special Olympics chapters/organizations. Due to our space limitations, we are unable to offer a Unified Event.

Bloom's Special Olympics Summer Kick Off

On May 16th, 2015, a Bloom's Business Professionals of America team will be hosting an event to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Illinois. The event will include sports tournaments, sports skills competition, crafts, a raffle, and food. Sports include: badminton, basketball, flag football, soccer, track and field events, and volleyball. The event will take place at Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois from 10am to 2pm.

2015 Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Floor Hockey Championships

The Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Floor Hockey Championships held every four years, serve as a qualifier to compete at National Games. This prestigious event will take place May 7-9, 2015 at Carleton University. The Championships will involve 24 teams, 384 athletes, 72 coaches, and over 400 volunteers, parents, caregivers and supporters. For the first time, a junior invitational tournament will be a part of the event.

Area 24 Bocce Tournament

Join us on May 9th at Mason County Eastern High for Area 24 Bocce/Horseshoe Tournament in Custer, Michigan. Opening ceremonies will begin at 9:30 a.m and will end by 1:30 p.m. Each athlete will play 2 games. Coaches can become certified in Bocce or Horseshoes if interested. Ribbons will be awarded to those athletes who participate.

Show your support and enthusiasm for more than 17,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities by running with Special Olympics Southern California in RunDisney's Tinker Bell Half Marathon. Run through the Disneyland® Resort and historic streets of Anaheim to a Fairy Finish — where runners will earn their "wings." Each person who completes the race will receive a gold Tinker Bell Half Marathon finisher's medal.
