By Yulia

Team Russia compete with Team Uzbekistan.

For the first time ever we celebrated a Special Olympics European Judo Tournament which took place in St Petersburg from February 23 - 27.View Story For the first time ever we celebrated a Special Olympics European Judo Tournament which took place in St Petersburg from February 23 - 27. 135 athletes from 13 countries from Europe & Eurasia participated, including athletes from Costa-Rica and 7 regions of Russia. More athletes competed in the inaugural tournament than the number of athletes who competed in judo at the 2011 World Games in Athens. The could not have been possible without the support of technical delegates and referees from Belgium, Greece, Ireland and Sweden. Such was the success that organisers and sponsors promise this will be a regular annual tournament.
