The Central Michigan University(CMU) Homecoming 5K is a Homecoming tradition of more than 20 years! The CMU 5K Run/Walk starts Homecoming morning off right with a course that begins at historic Finch Fieldhouse. Registration is from 7 a.m. - 8 a.m, with the race starting at 8am. The registration cost for the race is $25 before September 15th and $35 afterwards. All participants will receive a shirt and medal at finish. Prizes for overall male and female finishers and master's (40+) male and female finishers and new this year - a prize will be awarded for the most CMU spirit! All proceeds benefit the more than 20,000 athletes of Special Olympics Michigan. The 2014 Michigan Law Enforcement Combined Arms Shoot for Special Olympics will be held Saturday October 4th at 9am and is expected to wrap by 3pm. All proceeds and donations will go to the Michigan Law Enforcement Torch Run. The Tuscola County Conservation Club and local businesses will be sponsoring the cost of the event. The event is being held for all law enforcement officers and retirees state wide. Cost to participate will be $35. This will cover the cost to compete in the six stages for awards, a meal afterward and entry for door prizes. Please join us at Mt. Brighton on October 4 for the inaugural Mt. Brighton 5k Mountain Challenge benefiting Mt. Brighton Adaptive Sports. The 5k (3.1 miles) course will take you up the front hill of Mt. Brighton to the back lush greens, woods and wetlands of the Golf Club at Mt. Brighton, then return you to the front, speeding downhill through the finish line on a mostly-paved path. Early Registration will be $25 through September 28. Online Registration will close October 3, 2014. Late Registration will be $30 beginning September 29 through race day. Entry fee includes a t-shirt (sizes available are Small - XXLarge).
