Floor Hockey Head Coaches’ Training Course in Doha Eight Countries Participate
Under the supervision of SOMENA , SO Qatar held a training course in the capital city of Doha, to qualify floor hockey head coaches In the presence of SO Qatar’s Executive Manager, Amir Al Mola, the course was inaugurated by President and National Director of SO Qatar, Dr. Hassan Al Ansary who signaled the launch of the course events.
Seventeen floor hockey head coaches partook in the course form eight Arab countries: UAE, Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, Palestine, Oman, Morocco and Qatar. Representatives from the Qatari centers and Federation of Special Needs Sports also attended along with technical expert, Suhail Sahko.
Lectures and workshops were conducted by SOMENA’s Director of Sports and Training, Dr. Emad Mohey El Deen and professor of Sports Education Dr. Tarek Al Gammal, both of whom have been the backbone of SOMENA’s plan to upgrade the expertise of coaches in the sport, especially that next year will witness the SO World Winter Games.
The course was launched following the SO Qatar speech which was delivered by Dr. Hassan Al Ansary and SOI speech by Dr. Emad Mohey El Deen.

As lectures and workshops continued day and night throughout the course duration, Dr. Mohey El Deen expressed contentment over his mission, determined that the course would successfully achieve its objectives. In the same context, he stressed his confidence in the trainees’ expertise in floor hockey with healthy athletes highlighting their need for further adequate training to enable them to lead athletes with intellectual disabilities. Dr. Mohey El Deen also pointed out SOMENA’s keenness on holding the course as a means to provide the coaches who participated with the skills they need to prepare the region’s athletes for the upcoming SO World Winter Games.
The SOMENA sports official concluded his statements saying the follow-up process would not be limited to the course, as further training events would be held for the floor hockey coaches in their countries in his presence to note the extent of benefit achieved in the sport
