Capitol Hill Day for Special Olympics Missouri

Capitol Hill Day
We were fortunate to travel to Washington, DC to participate in Capitol Hill Day on March 6, 2013. This was truly an experience we will never forget. I work for Special Olympics Missouri and my brother Tanner is a Missouri athlete. Our parents were also able to attend. The feeling of representatives from SO across the nation all storming Capitol Hill on one day in hopes of getting the EKS Act to pass was a tremendous feeling. To be such a small part of a world-wide changing movement was very humbling. We will never forget our meeting with Sentatory Roy Blunt. He is such a great supporter of Special Olympics. It was great to meet with him and hear his thoughts on the act hopefully passing. For icing on the cake, Timothy Shriver also sat in on the meeting! We can never thank Special Olympics for what is has given back to me and family. From friendships, to lifetime experiences, from a place to all home. We love Special Olympics!

About Me:

I have worked for Special Olympics Missouri for 5 years on March 17, 2013. I feel so blessed to be able to work for a program that gives back so much to my brother, Tanner, who is a SOMO athlete. I grew up volutneering for this program and then was blessed to land a job with them almost straight out of college. I LOVE SOMO!
