Our 28th Annual National Games in Gibraltar

Happy Athletes at last year's (2012) summer Games.
Unusually for us it is a windy welcome for our visiting teams from Andorra for the first time....Isle of Man...such old and dear friends...and two football teams from nearby Spain, Barbate and Algeciras. We are all excited about our Games and it was heart warming to witness the arrival of Andorra last evening after a marathon 15 hour drive to get here. All athletes were tired but perked up greatly after a hearty supper. As the law Enforcement Torch Run is celebrating 25 years we also welcome visiting officers from across Europe to participate in the local run this afternoon. Gibraltar was the first in Europe to start the Torch Run. It is our delight and privilege to host these Games which would not be possible without the unstinting hours our faithful volunteers commit to this. Thank you. We are all excited and looking forward to the Games.....because.... WE MAKE IT HAPPEN!
