Special Olympics Gave Me Confidence

When I started with Special Olympics when I was a teenager, I didn't have confidence and had a hard time with others not accepting me for who I was. I started gaining confidence in myself, and eventually over time I knew what I was capable of. I wanted to help other athletes gain confidence in themselves and got them to understand who they really are and to not let other people in their community to stand in their way. Athletes with developmental disabilities are just like everyone else and I reassured them that they are capable of doing things just like everyone else can.

About Me:

I am 33 yrs. old and I have been in Special Olympics for almost 20 years. I enjoy Special Olympics a lot. It gives great opportunities and it also gives me confidence to be myself in the community.
