Special Olympics Mauritius celebrates its EKS Day

Special Olympics Mauritius (SOM) was proud to host a successful EKS Family Fun Day , which was attended by over 600 people including Special Olympics athletes, over 100 participants with other disabilities, coaches, volunteers, youths, parents ,teachers and guests. The event included a number of activities that included Fustal, bocce, athletics, basketball and other fun games which effectively brought it together as a Family Fun Day. Als0 in attendance where Parliamentarians Hon. Sik Yeun, and Hon. S. Obeegadoo, the Minister of Tourism and Leisure, Hon. V. Bunwaree, the Minister of Education DR. Hon. S. Boolell, and the Mayor of Curepipe. The event brought so much joy not only to SOM team but to the athletes, their parents and everyone who participated. According to the SOM team “The day and the spirit of inclusion was a true reflection of the legacy of our Special Olympics founder. We are proud to be part of that legacy. “
