Ultimate Challenge Chases the Vegas Winter Blues Away

With the Olympics days away and parts of the country suffering from the polar vortex, it was all things winter for the latest Ultimate Challenge in Las Vegas. The Winter Ultimate Challenge featured 12 sports stations to work on motor skills at Valley High School in Las Vegas. Fifty students receiving special education services from 10 middle and high schools in Clark County took part, helped by 23 Valley High School general education student volunteers, Four Valley High School student council students manned a table to have their classmates take the pledge to end the word. A dozen and a half adaptive PE teachers organized the event and four Microsoft employees volunteered by running an Xbox station These Ultimate Challenges have been happening for more than 10 years as a way for lower function special education students to experience what other students get to experience.
