Athletes Belén and Lupe compete in the 50-meter assisted race

Athletes with and without intellectual disabilities had the opportunity to compete and to be evaluated by their coaches prior to their participation in mini competitions, and the regional and national Games. The "Mini Competitions" are events where athletes with and without intellectual disabilities compete on an official sport during midmorning or a full day. These events took place thanks to the Inter Athletics Tournament at the South American Christian College and at the Espacio Creativo Joven Center in Paraguay.

Participants competed in the 50-meter dash, the 50-meter assisted race, the 100-meter dash, the long jump, the standing broad jump, tennis ball throw, softball throw, and the 3- and 4-kilogram shot put.

Special Olympics Paraguay works to promote understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of people with intellectual disabilities.
