We all know that physical fitness is a state of being that reflects a person's ability to perform specific exercises or functions, and is related to present and future health outcomes.
Physical fitness is a general state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the ability to perform aspects of sports, occupations and daily activities. Fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest.
The Special Olympics South Africa team recently launched a Fitness Curriculum called “SO FIT” and has just been recently introduced in the Northwest Province at 3 different regions, Moroleng, Ganyesa and Taung. Our coaches and athletes participated in the 2 day training and will now have to continue with the 8 weeks of practicals as per the curriculum. What an exciting journey this will be!
