On 28 May, Special Olympics Macau held a ‘UNIFY Concert’ at the Tap Seac Plaza as the kick-off event for their 30th Anniversary Celebration.
Since the establishment in 1987, Special Olympics Macau has not only provided services on sports trainings, occupational rehabilitation, special education supports and community supports, but also made efforts fostering the development of arts and culture for the people with intellectual disabilities (ID). 30th May to 1st June - Special Olympics Macau held the “Family Support Network Forum for People with Intellectual Disabilities” at the Sands Cotai Center.
Experts and families of people with intellectual disabilities from different countries and cities were invited. Special guest speaker, Cherish Aperocho, a youth leader from the Special Olympics Asia Pacific, attended to share experiences, strategies on promoting the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
