We interviewed Lungile Mkhwanazi, who was a part of the Special Olympics South Africa “Skillz for Life” holiday camp which was held in Nelspruit at Portia Shabangu School. She expressed what a fun-filled week it was where they enjoyed the following sessions; on the importance of getting knowing HIV/AIDS, eating and staying healthy, supporters in their life and the importance of not allowing oneself to be bullied.
Lungile continued to say that a lot of teenagers like herself are finding themselves under a lot of peer pressure from friends, and is happy that the skillz for life programme made her aware of ways of dealing with peer-pressure. She also expressed how it pains her that she battles to read and write like her fellow peers and feels that with a lot of determination she will be an expect in reading and writing. Lungile shared with is that, the camp was inspiring and insightful overall and she looks forward to participating in more programmes such as the "Skillz for Life"
