For the 4th year in a row, MLS WORKS and ESPN hosted Special Olympics athletes, partners and coaches during MLS All-Star Week.
For the first time, all 22 MLS Clubs were represented by 44 athletes and partners. The delegation had a full Chicago experience, training at Chicago Fire's practice facility followed by a deep-dish pizza dinner at Lou Malnati's.
The next day, players were inspired watching Real Madrid and MLS All-Stars practice before hitting Toyota Park's pitch that night.
Umar Muftau opened the scoring to give the East a halftime lead. The West came back in the second half as Jesus Tepole and Luke McPhee from Seattle scored 2 in under 2 minutes to take the lead. With under 2 minutes to go, the East evened the score with Muftau's second of the night.
The 2-2 draw was a phenomenal game by all.
On the final day, the delegation gave back to the community cleaning up a Chicago park during MLS Day of Service and were honored at halftime of the MLS All-Star Game to wrap up the week.
