Being chosen for the 2017 World Games was like a dream for Sharita, now 26. She is so excited every chance she gets to skate, but the 2017 Games experience has been the ultimate.

That's why she's chose the theme from "Peter Pan" for her performance. In her words, skating is like "I'm flying!" – and living in a fairy tale.

Sharita was also excited about actually flying to Austria for the Games. In 2017, she also got the chance to represent Special Olympics during Radio Row interviews at the Super Bowl.

Sharita's twin sister, Shaye, is also in Special Olympics--and is also a figure skater. When she’s not on the ice, Sharita trains hard and works hard at PNC bank.

About Me:

Special Olympics is a global movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports, every day around the world. We empower people with intellectual disabilities to become accepted and valued members of their communities, which leads to a more respectful and inclusive society for all.
