Special Olympics South Africa athlete Lesego Motshweni, 14 years old of age from Tshegofatsong Special School, expressed that she is happy about the opportunity of being screened by clinical volunteers free of charge.

She mentioned that even though at home they don’t care about her wellbeing, she is glad that she came to this screening as she has been taught a lot of things about ensuring that her health is well looked after. Lesego mentioned how it is still tough for her to adjust well in the community she lives in because she is constantly teased and made fun of because of her disability.

She also said, she is grateful for her teachers at school, who constantly motivate her and council her whenever she need someone to talk to as well as advise her to do well in everything she does.

She lastly said that she is grateful to Special Olympics for bringing the Healthy Athletes® program to her school.
