Special Olympics Netherlands athlete Jarno Brunink as an official on ice during the 2017 World Winter Games in Austria.

Jarno Brunink is one of the shining stars of Special Olympics Netherlands. Jarno, who has a very extensive Special Olympics history with 3 years of football, 12 years of speed skating and 10 years of inline skating experience, is the first athlete to be nominated to the Competition and Training Advisory Committee (CTAC) of Special Olympics and he is thrilled about the news! The CTAC advises the Europe/Eurasia Leadership Council (EELC) in the field of sports development strategy and sports rules. This is not Jarno’s only accomplishment to celebrate this year. Earlier in 2017, he was also elected as an official during the 2017 World Winter Games in Austria. As Jarno runs from one success to another, he shared his emotions and said he has learned so much from sport and Special Olympics but now he is even more excited for the next chapter. “I am so happy that people in the CTAC will be listening to the feedback and ideas of an athlete. I can’t wait till our first meeting in April 2018.”
