My awesome experience in Phoenix

Alt Image
I was a featured speaker at the Law Enforcement Torch Run International Conference in Phoenix this year. It was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. Not just meeting other athletes with similar stories but learning from others as well. My job at the conference was to introduce main speakers at a couple of the concurrent sessions. I told my story about doing 21 lifetime half marathons since May of 2015 alone and how I have won over 200 medals competing in Special Olympics and regular running competitions. I also heard stories that hit close to home about people underestimating people with disabilities or people judging before they realize our potential. I also met other fellow marathon runner athletes who also are Special Olympics athletes from all over the world. The cool part at the conference was the opening ceremonies they had Indian dancers. Plus we got to go to the Diamondbacks game and got free food. I also met Loretta Claiborne and we talked. It was awesome.
