One 4 All Foundation Offers Opportunities in Unified Basketball

The One 4 All Foundation was founded by football legend Thierry Henry
Thierry Henry’s One 4 All Foundation support of Play Unified projects in the UK does not limit itself to soccer. The Foundation is making it possible for athletes across other sports to experience the benefits of Unified Sports in breaking down barriers to respect and friendship amongst young people with and without intellectual disabilities. In Berkshire we are working in partnership with Basketball England to provide Unified Basketball training and competitions amongst mainstream schools and Special Olympics clubs. Two clubs in particular are involved: Reading Rockets and Bracknell Cobras. Ongoing training is taking place across nine schools to ensure all coaches receive high quality professional development. The training is led by a Competition Coordinator to support inclusive practice when delivering in the schools. The training also involves up-skilling coaches and providing opportunities to spread awareness and raise the profile of Unified Basketball into the community. County-based Unified Basketball competition are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.
