Most countries in the Pacific Region have recently joined the SO Movement. From April 29th - 4th May 2018, Fiji is hosting the first Special Olympics Pacific Games, SO Papua New Guinea is really excited to send it's Football Team to participate in this event.

"We have been running a Unified Football Competition in our country for 3 years now and these athletes have been competing with each other and now they have the opportunity to travel abroad is a really big deal for their families and their communities, its life changing, it's changing the conversation, it's changing the attitudes, my athletes are now recognised as part of the community" excited coach Willie Vaira told us before boarding the flight with his team. A big shout out to Digicel PNG Limited, Air Niugini, PNG Embroidery, Lae Biscuit Company and Special Olympics Asia Pacific for making it possible.

About Me:

I am employed by the Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation as the Program Manager for Ability Sport and I love to volunteer for Special Olympics Papua New Guinea as the National Program Manager in my free time. I am making real impact in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and having so much fun being involved and I feel happy and satisfied when I go home.
