Stars from the biggest soccer club in Poland have expressed their passion for Special Olympics as they prepared to compete in national league games dedicated to the movement during European Football Week 2014.
"Football is beautiful, the most popular sport in the world. I'm representing Legia Warsaw, the biggest football club in Poland, so my duty is to promote football without exclusion. This is the way we can change the consciousness of our society," says Jakub Szumielewicz, director of Legia Warsaw FC.
Legia midfielder Michal Zyro added, "We are happy that we can promote great initiatives like this."
"If our engagement in this project can bring society’s attention to the problems of people with intellectual disabilities, then we should do everything to make that happen," says Legia midfielder Daniel Łukasik.
"Everyone loves football and everyone has a right to enjoy it. We have to annihilate exclusion, this is our duty as footballers," said Legia striker Michal Kucharczyk
