A Gift in Your Will or Living Trust

You can help usher in a new world of unity, tolerance, and respect by including a gift to Special Olympics in your will or living trust. Help end of the inactivity, stigma, isolation, and injustice that people with intellectual disabilities (ID) face and contribute to a future full of community, opportunity, joy, and connection.

Did you know that you can leave almost all of your assets to your family and other loved ones, and a small percentage, even 1%, to organizations like Special Olympics? Many supporters find that this allows them to balance the needs of their family while making a meaningful gift.

A gift through your will or trust is a very special way of ensuring that your support for Special Olympics continues for generations to come. These gifts:

  • Require no immediate donation. The gift comes to Special Olympics only after your lifetime.
  • Allow you to change your mind at any time.
  • Are gratefully welcomed in any amount.

Your attorney can help you determine the best way to make your gift. Some options:

  • You can leave a small percentage of your estate—even 1% can make a real difference!
  • You can leave a defined sum to Special Olympics.
  • You can leave a percentage of funds left over after other gifts and debts are paid and your loved ones are provided for.
  • You can make a secondary or contingent gift that only comes to Special Olympics if your other beneficiaries do not survive you or other specific gifts cannot be fulfilled.
