Now 28, she is a relentless competitor who has discovered that focusing on her game also helps with her sensory and other challenges. In 2015, Brittany brought home the gold in singles and doubles tennis at the INAS World Tennis Championships and Special Olympics Florida State Championship. In July 2016, she competed in the Orlando United Double Tennis Open as a part of a Unified pair. Not only did she and her partner win gold, she was the only Special Olympics athlete invited to compete in the tournament! Steven was 20 when he learned that a community member with disabilities was unable to access local church facilities. He decided to take action by helping raise needed money at a kayaking fund-raiser event. One problem: Steven didn't know how to kayak. <br/><br/>Steven's mother recalls that, at that point, Steven—who has Asperger syndrome—was not very social. Yet he was passionate about helping others. For the church project, he worked hard to motivate lots of people to get involved and helped raise more than enough money to make the church facilities inclusive for all. He also learned to kayak! That was more than 20 years ago. Since then, Steven has continued to advocate on behalf of those in need.<br/><br/>As he puts it, "If you treat everybody with the same dignity and respect, then, you'll make them smile."<br/><br/>Steven's community work has earned him Britain's Young Achiever's Award. As part of this honor, he attended a reception at Buckingham Palace. Steven saw the opportunity for a little networking. Soon, Steven was organizing the first Prince's Trust team involving people with disabilities—after asking Prince Charles for permission, of course.<br/><br/>Steven has also traveled to Kosovo several times with Smile International to help rebuild homes in war-torn areas, despite his fear of flying.<br/><br/>As for sports, Steven has become a gold- and silver-medal winning kayaker in Special Olympics local and international events. He's usually up before dawn to get in at least two hours of cycling; later, he heads to the gym for at least two more hours, so he can keep his muscles strong.<br/><br/>Abhishek was a few months old when he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, due to complications from jaundice. He was 11 when his father died of cancer; since then, his mother has done all she could to help Abhishek keep active and included in school and physical activities with people without disabilities.<br/><br/>Through regular sports training and physical therapy, he has gained more control over the lower part of his body, but still struggles with upper body control and strength. Abhishek has trained very hard and set a record at the 2018 NCC national competition in Ratu, India, by covering 10km in 19 min., 21 sec.<br/><br/>To accomplish all this, Abhishek has been using and training on borrowed bikes, since his family could not afford a bike of his own. Then, a loyal supporter started a crowdfunding campaign to get Abhishek his own bike and some basic equipment. It took awhile, but he now has his own bike, plus a helmet and other equipment. Since then, Abhishek has been training even harder!<br/><br/>In addition, Abhishek has been studying at Indira Gandhi National Open University, with plans of going on to higher studies. However, his dream is to be a videographer and film-maker like his father.<br/><br/>With his determination and skill, Abhishek is a leader in The Revolution Is Inclusion.
