Loretta Claiborne Named a USA TODAY’s Women of the Year 2023

On 21 March 2023, Special Olympics Board Vice Chair and Chief Inspiration Officer Loretta Claiborne was named one of USA TODAY’S Women of Year 2023. Claiborne was selected because of her continuing contributions from the local level to the world stage. In her Woman of the Year profile, she explains in her own words, how she finds inspiration and has faced down life challenges.

Claiborne received the honor alongside other female powerhouse changemakers including former first lady Michelle Obama, the first female U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and the U.S. women’s soccer team.
