Special Olympics Announced as WWE Business Partner of the Year

Special Olympics was recognized as WWE’s 2018 Business Partner of the Year during the annual Business Partner Summit in Brooklyn on April 6th. Special Olympics was chosen from five of WWE’s most distinguished partners including Hyundai and Facebook.

The Business Partner of the Year Award is designed to recognize WWE’s partners who best utilized the collective WWE assets and platforms to drive their business and amplify brand messaging.

“This year, we are proud to name Special Olympics the winner of WWE’s Business Partner of the Year award, as they leveraged our Superstars, production capabilities, live events, television, digital and social assets to promote their marquee events and drive home the importance of inclusion for people with all abilities. We could not be more thrilled to recognize Special Olympics as the 2019 Business Partner of the Year.”
Stephanie McMahon, WWE Chief Brand Officer

“Special Olympics is honored to be named Business Partner of the Year from an outstanding list of organizations that WWE partners with” said Special Olympics CEO Mary Davis. “We are so proud of what we have accomplished together over the past 12 months. From USA Games in Seattle, to our 50th Anniversary Celebration in Chicago, to World Games in Abu Dhabi, we were able to activate in 16 countries and on 6 continents. What a thrill for our athletes, volunteers, coaches and staff across the globe to receive this award. Thank you WWE!”

WWE’s partnership with Special Olympics dates back to the 1995 World Games in New Haven, Connecticut, and more recently has included partnerships with the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, 2019 Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi and on-going international support of Special Olympics’ Play Unified campaign.
