In media appearances with international reach, Special Olympics Chairman of the Board Timothy Shriver, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the United States His Excellency Yousef Al Otaiba and two Special Olympics Global Ambassadors enthusiastically shared news that the Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools® program is expanding to six countries.

This expansion is made thanks to a US$25 million from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces. The successful Unified Champion Schools (UCS) program will now support inclusive education in Argentina, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Romania and Rwanda.

From sports to consumer lifestyle radio platforms, Shriver, Al Otaiba and Global Ambassadors Sam Perkins ( American Basketball Player and U.S. Olympic Medalist) and Ibtihaj Muhammad (U.S. Olympic Medalist), spoke about the announcement, the history of Special Olympics and the importance of inclusion.
