Olympic Skater Johnny Weir Wins Big for Special Olympics on Wheel of Fortune

13 December 2023. Two-time Olympic skater and three-time U.S. Skating Champion, Johnny Weir raised more than $65,000 on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune in a special episode that aired on ABC yesterday evening.

When host Pat Sajak asked Weir why he choose Special Olympics as his beneficiary organization, Weir said, “I’m playing for Special Olympics, that celebrates inclusivity in sports. Sports has changed my life so, I’m hopeful that we can raise some money to change other people’s lives.”

Weir competed alongside co-contestants actors James Pickens, Jr. from Grey’s Anatomy and Brooke Burns from Gourmet Detective.
