Under the leadership of Eric Leclerc, their Torch Run Director, and Tracy Garabedian, Special Olympics Rhode Island Director of Development, the Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) council created and distributed care package bags for athletes living in group homes. Each bag contained hand sanitizer, two pairs of gloves, two face masks, a bar of soap, a small pack of tissues, a Torch Run t-shirt and some other fun police department related items.
Most of the items were donated and the Torch Run Council purchased additional supplies to make sure each bag was complete. As of this posting, more than 200 bags have been delivered throughout the state with a goal to continue dispersing more bags.
Because of acts like these, Jerry Holy, Special Olympics Unified Champions Schools® Specialist and Special Olympics Virginia athlete, recorded this message thanking the law enforcement members who are working so hard on behalf of athletes during such a stressful time.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics is the largest public awareness vehicle and grass-roots for Special Olympics fundraiser for Special Olympics.
