It was 1972 at the California Special Olympics State Games when I first met Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver. Since that time, 37 years ago I have had the privilege of working along side (although never keeping up) with Mrs. Shriver all over the world, morning until dark, on fields, in halls, in gyms, in pools, with athletes, with volunteers, with parents, with clergy, with US Presidents and World Leaders and watched in awe as she has tirelessly changed the world, not only for people with intellectual disabilities but every one of us that she has taught. She is and will always be my Role Model.
