Tyler Lagasse is an accomplished member of the Special Olympics community. He began reading and writing at the age of 2, but wouldn't talk. By the age of 4, he was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder (a form of autism). He has found success through sports, which has led to bigger things: chemistry classes at Middlesex Community College, with plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in environmental health.
He's even co-written a book with his mom: "What Do You Say? Autism with Character". A talented golfer, Tyler has made eagle on a par-4 twice; won silver at the 2010 Special Olympics National Games; on the 18th hole at Congressional Country Club in Maryland, he made a birdie and beat the pro he played with at the AT&T National Pro-Am (Gary Woodland).
Tyler says his greatest accomplishment was a hole-in-one made with a 9-iron on the 9th hole at Tyngsboro Country Club on the 9th day of the 9th month of 2013, playing unified golf with his dad.
