We interviewed Betsy Coetzee from the Pretoria City Lions Club, who attended the screening as a volunteer. She mentioned that this was her first time coming to a Special Olympics SA screening and that her experience during the day has been nothing but amazing for her.
Betsy expressed how it has been astounding for her to be given this opportunity to give back to the community of Mamelodi. She said she was not familiar with this kind of setting nor working with Children with an Intellectual Disability.
Betsy mentioned to us that she is used to working with people who are blind in the schools and centers she volunteers her services. She expressed how she cannot wait to be invited to another screening to meet new people and offer help where she can.
