PITTSFORD, N.Y., February 25, 2020: The Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing at St. John Fisher College and Waterford Institute of Technology in Waterford, Ireland have signed a memorandum of understanding to work together in the field of intellectual disability nursing.

As local students made their way to lectures, athletes competing in the Special Olympics Sweden Invitational Games 2020 participated in free health screenings through the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes programme.

Earlier this week, philanthropist and businessman Tom Golisano committed $1.5 million to support a new $2 million medical oncology center at Niagra Falls Memorial Medical Center in upstate New York, with the goal of improving access to cancer treatment for all, including people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

On 21 October 2019, Nazareth College, Special Olympics New York, and the Golisano Foundation announced the grand opening of the Golisano Training Center at Nazareth College—the first of its kind collaboration on inclusion, fitness, and wellness for athletes of all abilities.
