The Power of Sport. For every Special Olympics athlete, there are many more waiting for their chance.  Help us reach one more person who wants to participate.Special Olympics China Donate

Special Olympics China was founded in 1985 and has grown from 30,000 athletes in 2000 to over 900,000 athletes and participants at the end of 2009.  Special Olympics China currently has the largest athlete population and one of the highest levels of quantitative growth of all the Special Olympics Programs in the world. Tens of thousands of coaches, educators, volunteers, and others train athletes and help organize competitions and other events. Each of China's 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities has a Special Olympics Program and now offers 27 offical sports to our particpating athletes. In 2007, Special Olympics China was the host of the 12th Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, China.

The most important objective of Special Olympics is to promote the Special Olympics athlete. The goal is to reach the 1  million athletes by the end of 2010 and this would not be possible without the support of financial aid from individual donors, foundations, organizations and the government.  Visit the Special Olympics China website and see how you can support the movement.
