Toyota’s partnership with Special Olympics began in the Southern California region in the 1980s. Since then, Toyota has supported several major milestones, including the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, and became a national partner of Special Olympics Nippon (Japan) in 2016.
Separately, Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) entered into a partnership with Special Olympics in 2022 to support U.S. state programs and has served as a Premier Partner of the Special Olympics USA Games 2022 and 2026. TMNA also served as Presenting Partner of the inaugural Unified Cup in both 2018 and 2022, providing Toyota vehicles to support Games operations at each event.
In addition, Toyota Motor Europe (TME) has been a partner in the Europe region with Special Olympics Europe Eurasia since 2020, expanding support to more than 30 countries over the years. TME supported both the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 and the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025, with Toyota employee volunteers assisting athletes and families on site. Toyota also provided operational vehicles at both Games, helping ensure smooth and efficient event operations.
Toyota’s support for Special Olympics represents a truly global movement, spanning regions, programs, and generations, and reflects a long‑standing commitment to inclusion through sport.
